How to Wear Cowboy Boots with Skirts/Dresses | 4 Outfit Ideas

Today I'm dropping some of my favorite skirt/dress + cowboy boot outfits!

The wind picks up, spitting dust everywhere in great clouds like a brown mist descending on the homestead. You can barely make out the silhouette of an adobe house, or perhaps it's a cabin. The wooden door opens to reveal a woman. She stands in the entryway, gun in hand, skirts flowing around her, an expression like murder on her face. We've seen the trope a million times in old western films...hell newer western films too! Yet it's one I never tire of. These were the women on the silver screen I looked

up to the most. The women who held down to fort, fed the animals, milked, gathered eggs, fought off anyone who dared cross her, and kept the home-fires burning. I wanted to mimic their style. I wanted to be an frontier woman. Of course, I can't walk around in full pioneer dresses all the time. However, I do like to take a little bit of inspiration from their clothing by wearing my boots and hats with skirts and dresses. Today I'm sharing a few of my favorite outfit ideas in case you'd like to do the same!

"Don't Make me Cut You" Tee | Salty Farm Life Line

Outfit Idea #1
Tee + Boho Maxi Skirt + Boots

My absolute favorite way to style cowboy boots is with a maxi skirt, and a tied tee-shirt. Both the skirt and tee (like my "Don't Make me Cut You" tee I'm wearing here, are just so comfy! And BONUS I can dress it up or down depending on the boots I wear. In this outfit I paired it with a pair of heeled boots, but I've also worn them with my everyday Justin or Ariat boots. I like taller boots for this outfit so it doesn't interrupts the line of the skirt too much! Ankle boots would be cute as well though!

Outfit Idea #2
Mini Dress + Western Blazer + Tall Boots

I love this outfit for early fall or spring when there is just a little chill in the air but it's still perfect weather for a dress! I like that the long boots leave just the right amount of leg to where I don't feel like I'm wearing a top as a dress! ;P

Featuring my "Aren't You a Piece of Patchwork" Tee

Outfit Idea #3
Midi Skirt + Tucked in Shirt + Cowboy Boots

This outfit was somewhat an accident! I almost always wear my tees knotted with skirts but completely forgot when I did this shoot! In the end, I'm totally vibing with the more practical tucked in tee with a midi skirt! I feel like if I needed too, I could actually get some work done around the farm in this!

Final Outfit | How to Wear Cowboy Boots with Skirts/Dresses
Wedding Gown + Heeled Boots + Cowboy Hat + Burlap Bouquet

I love some western bridal inspiration! For this look we paired a lace, slit, gown, with some high-heeled squared toed cut-out boots, and a cowboy hat! We also created a burlap and American Flag bouquet because... well, us country girls love our country y'all!
